FASA 2010 Proposed Schedule:
July 10, 2010:
8:00 - 11:00 a.m. - Registration: Bennett Campus Center. Students and families arrive to pick up their paperwork and check in to campus housing.
11:30 a.m. - Orientation Luncheon: Lipscomb Cafeteria. All students and faculties are required to attend the opening ceremonies of FASA 2010. Tickets are $7.50 per person and should be purchased when students enroll with the FASA office.
1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - Classes and placement auditions.
July 11:
1:00 - 5:30 p.m. Classes for Upper and Lower Division
July 12 - 13:
8:15 a.m - 2:30 a.m. Lower Division Classes
8:15 a.m. - 3:30 a.m. Upper Division core classes. Electives and private lessons continue into the evening.
July 14-16:
8:15 a.m. - ? Lower Division Classes. Due to technical and dress rehearsal needs hours will be extended. Specific hours will be determined during the week.
8:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Upper Division core classes. Electives and private lessons continue into the evening.
July 17-18:
TBD - based upon performance schedules.
July 19-20:
8:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Upper Division core classes. Electives and private lessons continue into the evening.
July 21:
8:15 a.m. - ? Extended hours begin in order to allow the necessary time for production, technical and dress rehearsals.
FASA Performances Schedule:
The schedule below is tentative. Dress rehearsals are subject to change, and require your flexibility. Specific concert times will be posted as soon as possible.
Students will participate in two performances during the two weeks of FASA. Performance descriptions and schedule are subject to change as enrollment necessitates.
Week One Track Performance Schedule:
Week one will culminate in performances that feature multiple tracks. Track performances present a wonderful opportunity to showcase students in an individual capacity beyond the limitation of week two’s final show.
July 16, 2010 – evening
Mini Music Fest students will participate in a show stopping performance of the music they've mastered during their time at the Academy. This isn't a sleepy show! You won't believe what these children can do.
July 17, 2010 – matinee
Mini Music Fest students final performance of the 2010 show!
July 17, 2010 – evening
The string and guitar tracks will collaborate in a joint performance featuring a multiplicity of styles.
July 18, 2010 – matinee
Piano and drama tracks will collaborate in a joint performance. Drama students will present a one act play, while pianists will perform music ranging from the classics to jazz to contemporary band styles.
July 18, 2010 – evening
Big Band, dance and vocal tracks will collaborate for the final week one performance. Students will be performing a wide range of musical and dance styles.
Week Two: Final Musical Gala Event
The final show will be a thematic presentation featuring the “best of” track performances, as well as new music featuring all students as a group. The final show will be professionally filmed and will feature soon to be announced guest artists.
